This year's Thursday program was focused on herring.
Representatives from the New England Fisheries Management Council and the
Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission gave updates on regulation
changes and the status of the stock. There was also a panel discussion with
industry stakeholders. Fishermen from all sectors who are dependent on the
herring fishery were invited to participate. This was a good opportunity
for everyone to ask questions and to look ahead at the regulations for the
coming year, and to seek answers to questions they had.
