Cutting Edge or a Waste of Time??
 

    
      This year’s all-day Thursday session was focused on recent gear developments and was titled “New Fishing Gear: Cutting Edge or Wasting Time?”  The session combined talks on recent gear developments and fishing technologies with displays of mobile and fixed fishing gear and demonstrations of how gear works.  A combination of fishermen, scientists and gear engineers were featured in a series of talks while attendees were allowed time to visit displays of various types of fishing gear, scale models, under-water videos and other images.
