Impacts of Mobile Fishing Gear on Benthic Habitat
Science and Industry Perspectives
 

  
      The question of the extent and severity of benthic impacts by mobile fishing gear is controversial.  Several science and industry partnerships in the Northeast are trying to answer these questions.  From an industry and scientific perspective, this seminar addressed what we currently understand the short and long-term habitat impacts to be, as well as discussed what mitigation strategies have been tried and are currently under development.
