Banquet and Ceremony 2006
 

    
     The Banquet and Ceremony were awesome this year, with Forum President Paul Anderson as the Master of Ceremonies.  The Forum was very honored to have Governor Baldacci as the guest speaker.  He spoke about many fisheries interests, including the opening of more shellfish flats to harvesting.
     The ceremony began with a moment of silence for those fishermen lost at sea.  The Forum Board of Directors and staff were then thanked for their service, as well as the people and organizations who made donations to the Forum, and the Samoset Staff.  The winner of the Auction Raffle, Linda Barnaby, was announced.  25 - $1,000 college scholarships were awarded as well as a $500 Pendleton scholarship donated by Senator Tom Allen and Sweetser. 
      Steve Train and Bob Baines from Maine Lobstermen's Association presented their annual "DMR Officer of the Year" award to 10- year patrol veteran Danny White, whose territory covers Damariscotta, Bremen, the Pemaquid Peninsula, and the coast north to Head of Tide in Alna.
     Following the ceremony the band "Roundabout" tuned up for a great night of dancing and just plain fun.
