Improving Fisheries Management in the US
 

    The US Oceans Commission has made many suggestions on how to improve managing our oceans.  The Commission’s report recommends an additional layer of oversight to meet ecosystem goals, the separation of science and allocation decisions in managing our fisheries, a change in governance to further empower Interstate Fisheries Commissions, and broadening membership on regional fishery management councils.  The panel will focus on how we should move forward with these recommendations.
